Robert G. Haynes

Robert G. Haynes, DVM MS

Dr. Haynes grew up on his family’s Hereford Cattle and Quarter Horse ranch south of Wamego, KS. This farm has been in the family for over 125 years. In 1979, he received a BS degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University and took a job as cowherd manager for a purebred Angus farm in Connecticut. Dr. Haynes returned to KSU in 1981 and earned his MS degree in Animal Science (Bovine Reproductive Physiology) in 1983 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.

He concentrates on the large animal (farm animals and equine) portion of Town & Country Veterinary Hospital. He is also the chief veterinary inspector at JC Livestock Sales every Wednesday. He does also practice small animal medicine and surgery on Thursdays and every other Saturday mornings and provides emergencies after hours and during holidays.

Dr. Haynes and his wife, Pam, have a large family of boys, Robby (Emily and Granddaughter Elizabeth), Matthew (Leslie), Andrew (Haley), Joseph (deceased), and Joshua. The boys are employed and deeply involved in various jobs and schooling relating to animal agriculture, agribusiness, and veterinary medicine.
Pamela C. Haynes

Pamela C. Haynes, Office Manager

Pam grew up in Salina, KS and moved to Chapman, KS while in high school when her dad, Gary Langvardt, became the Yard Foreman at JC Livestock Sales in Junction City. While growing up, Pam was always a part of the sale barn, working along with her dad. She graduated from Chapman High School in 1979 and obtained a degree in business from Brown Mackie College in 1981. She worked at a sporting goods store and bank before she met Dr. Haynes.

Pam married Dr. Haynes in 1988 and has been the practice manager at the veterinary clinic ever since. Besides her business responsibilities, she also fills in as veterinary technician and receptionist as needed.

The Haynes family lives on a small ranchette five miles south of Junction City. Pam is outnumbered by five men but still manages to keep a wonderful home.
Brandy Shamburg

Brandy Shamburg, DVM

Dr. Shamburg grew up on a family farm south of Topeka, KS. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from KSU in 2011 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from KSU in 2013. She practiced as a mixed animal practitioner in Lindsborg, KS for a couple years before joining the team at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital in 2015. Dr. Shamburg is our main small animal veterinarian and her interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery of small animals.

Dr. Shamburg enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Adam, and their children, Avery and Eli. They also have three four-legged kids named Mec, Finn, and Jase who keep them busy.
Janice Hannagan

Janice Hannagan, Head Receptionist/Vet Tech

Janice grew up east of Junction City on her family farm and is a lifetime resident of Geary County. Janice joined our team in October of 2002 and over the years, has worked as receptionist, vet tech, and grooming assistant. She also assists Dr. Haynes and Pam at the Sale Barn each Wednesday.

She has two children - Jenna and Colton - and joined Trey Allen in marriage in 2015. Janice can be found participating at barrel races, and rodeos with her children and does so in her spare time. Janice is also involved with Geary County 4-H as a county leader in the horse project.  She also has numerous 4 legged animals;  9 horses, 5 dogs (Izzy, Cinch, Tapadero, King and Turbo) , 2 cats and raises Hereford/Angus cattle.  
Colleen Stafford

Callie Stanley, Head Technician

Lifetime resident of Dickinson County.   Graduated Chapman High School in 2014. Received her vet technician degree from Colby Community College in 2016. Came to us June 2016. Callie and her husband Ryan, have 4 dogs (Jack, Hunter,Lexi and Shiloh) and 3 cats (Piglet, Athena and Midnight).
Nicole Fairchild

Colleen Stafford, Groomer

Colleen grew up in upstate New York and moved to the Junction City area in the year 2000 in a military move. She began her grooming career at that time and over the next 14 years groomed with three different grooming salons in the area. She came to us at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital as a finish groomer in 2014. Colleen and her husband, Sparky, live in the area and enjoy outdoor sports such as horseback riding, motorcycling, and hunting.  Colleen is joined at home with her 6 English Bulldogs: Saint, Theia, RV Zant, Rhea, Phoenix, and Floyd  (not picture) and Sturgis (chihuahua mix). 
Nicole Fairchild

Nicole Fairchild, Groomer

A long time animal lover, Nicole is a Junction City native. She began her grooming career in 1998 with an apprenticeship under a long time local groomer. She continues her grooming education by attending grooming workshops and seminars regularly. Nicole owned and operated The Satin Bow grooming salon for four years before coming to us here at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital as a finish groomer in 2010. Nicole and her husband, Shane, have 2 children, Henry and Evelyn along with their cat, Moose.

Lindsey Fisher, Groomer

Lindsay joined Town and Country Veterinary in November 2015.  Native of Junction City, she raises her 3 kids, Ireland, Kaiya and Ryelynn, and their 3 legged cat, Trio.  When not bathing dogs, she can be found out riding horses and spending time with her kids. 
Nicole Fairchild

Kelsey Murdoch, Groomer

Kelsey has been grooming over 10 years and came to our practice in March 2017.  She is a native resident of Ft. Meyers, Florida.  She and her husband, James, have 3 kids, Brook, James Jr and Kayla, along with their dog, Casey and cat, Cleo.  Her family enjoys spending time outdoors together walking Casey.
